After letting go of the top spot for a week Once Upon A Time in ... Hollywood has gone back to the top with The Informer the highest new film coming in down the chart at number 10!

Once Upon a Time ... In Hollywood

Tarantino's highest grossing film to date goes back to the top of the box office after falling to number 2 last weekend.

The Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt starring movie takes £1.8 Million over the weekend to push its UK gross to £16.3 Million.

The Lion King

Disneys mega smash moves up to number 2 this week with a weekend gross of £1.2 Million.

This gives the Jon Favreau directed movie an amazing UK gross os £71.7 Million after 7 weeks of release and its the second highest grossing movie of the year.

Angel Has Fallen

After taking the top spot last weekend the threequel movie falls hard to number 3 in its second week with a gross of £1.2 Million, this pushes the films total gross to £4.5 Million.

Dora And The Lost City Of Gold

Still hanging on to a place in the top 5 the Dora The Explorer move falls to 4 with £622,872 for a total in the UK of £4 Million after 3 weeks.

Fast & Furious Presents Hobbs and Shaw

Falling to number 5 this week the Fast & Furious franchise film takes £610,479 which increases its total to £19 Million after 5 weeks of release.

Highest new film of the week comes in at number 10, the Andrea Di Stefano directed movie stars Ana de Armas and Rosamund Pike and starts its UK run with £301,424.

Toy Story 4

The Pixar movie continues its long run on the UK box office and this week makes it 11 weeks, it now has a total gross of £63.8 Million.

Quentin Tarantine scores his biggest opening weekend in the UK with his new film Once Upon A Time In ... Hollywood as it makes its debut on the box office with last weeks number 1 falls to number 2.

Once Upon a Time ... In Hollywood

Starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt the fictional tale based around real life events in Hollywood in the late 1960's hits the top of the UK box office with a fantastic debut of £7.5 Million.

This is easily the best debut by a film from famed director Tarantino who's highest grossing film to date is Django Unchained from 2013.

The Lion King

Disneys remake falls to number 2 this week after re-taking the top spot last week with a £2.5 Million 5th weekend.

The films total UK gross is now £65.9 Million and its starting to knock on the door of Beauty And The Beast to be the top grossing Disney animated remake.

Fast & Furious Presents Hobbs and Shaw

The Fast & Furious franchise picture falls another place to number 3 this week with £1.4 Million on its 3rd weekend.

The film now has a total UK gross of £16.2 Million.

Dora And The Lost City Of Gold

Based on the Nickelodeon educational cartoon Doara The Explorer this live action version has more to do with Indianan Jones than the source material.

The films built in audience took it to number 4 for its debut with a gross of £1.1 Million.

Toy Story 4

Pixars sequel movie sits at number this week with a weekend gross of £1 Million which takes its total UK gross to £61.2 Million after 9 weeks of release.

The Secret Life of Pets 2

Re-entering the box office this week is the animated sequel movie which thanks to the British summer holidays is at number 14 this week with a total gross of £19.2 Million 13 weeks on the chart.

Once Upon A Time ... In Hollywood

First up at cinemas this week is Once Upon A Time ... In Hollywood, a Comedy directed by Quentin Tarantino who also directed Kill Bill Volume 1 in 2003 which grossed £11.5 Million.

It stars Leonardo DiCaprio who last starred in Before The Flood (2016) and Brad Pitt who last appeared in Deadpool 2 (2018).

Dora And The Lost City Of Gold

Next on the new release schedule is Dora And The Lost City Of Gold, this new Family stars Isabela Moner and Eugenio Derbez.

The film is brought to us by 4 time director James Bobin.

Good Boys

Next up this week is Good Boys which is directed by Gene Stupnitsky and is a directorial debut.

It stars Jacob Tremblay and Keith L. Williams.

Uglydolls

Also this week there is Uglydolls from director Kelly Asbury who also directed Gnomeo And Juliet in 2011.

The film features Pitbull and Ice-T in starring roles.

Fast & Furious Presents Hobbs And Shaw stays at the top of the American box office for a second weekend while the Guillermo del Toro presented Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark is the top new entry of the weekend.

Fast & Furious Presents Hobbs and Shaw

The franchise film starring Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham stays at the top for a second weekend with a gross of $25.4 Million which pushes the films total gross over the $100 Million mark to $108 Million.

The David Leitch directed movie wont hit the dizzey heights of the latter Fast anf Furious movies but it is still a good summer hit for the franchise.

Scary Stories to Tell In the Dark

We are fast approaching the horror film season and this weekend we got this fright fest from director Andre Ovredal which is the top new film of the weekend at number 2.

The film scores a nice $20.8 Million on its debut weekend of release.

The Lion King

Hitting dizzy heights still is Jon Favreau remake of the 1993 animated feature which this week falls to 3 with $20 Million pushing its total to a massive $473.1 Million.

This makes it the second highest grossing film if the year in America behind the Marvel mega hit Avengers: Endgame.

Dora And The Lost City Of Gold

Starring Benicio Del Toro and Madelyn Miranda the subject matter of Dora The Explorer seemes an odd one to bring to the big screen due to its educational content on the Nickelodeon channel.

Still lets not let the source material get in the way of a good money spinner and the James Bobin directed young Lara Croft comes in at number 4 this week with $17 Million.

Once Upon a Time ... In Hollywood

Quentin Tarantino biggest film for some time falls to number 5 this week with $11.6 Million pushing the films total gross just over the $100 Million mark in America.

Aladdin

Another Disney live action movie hitting grand heights this week and 12 weeks on the Genie movie starring Will Smith has taken $352.7 Million.

At the UK box office this weekend, Friday, 9th August 2019, there are 3 new releases looking to take your attention at the local multiplex and knock Fast & Furious Presents Hobbs And Shaw from the top of the UK box office chart next week.

Blinded By The Light

First up at cinemas this week is Blinded By The Light, a Comedy directed by Gurinder Chadha who also directed Bride And Prejudice in 2004 which grossed £5 Million.

It stars Viveik Kalra who is making a feature film debut and Kulvinder Ghir who last appeared in The Queens Corgi (2019).

Playmobil: The Movie

Next on the new release schedule is Playmobil: The Movie, this new Fantasy stars Dino Andrade and Gabriel Bateman.

The film is brought to us by new director Lino DiSalvo.

The Sun Is Also A Star

Next up this week is The Sun Is Also A Star which is directed by Ry Russo-Young who directed Before I Fall in 2017.

It stars Yara Shahidi and Anais Lee.
