News from around the web

Sony Pictures release the last trailer for Jumanji: The next Level before the film is released on 13th December 2019.

The first Jumanji starring the current gang of Karen Gillan, Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black and Kevin Hart was a massive hit 2 years ago at the same time of year and Sony will be hoping this new film hits the same note.

The new trailer is more of the same and elaborates on some of the new locations as well as showing new comer Danny DeVito being, well funny, as you'd expect from the veteran actor.

With the film more or less going up against massive hitter Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker we have a repeat of 2017 when the first movie went up against Star Wars: The Last jedi, so it has its work cut out, but then Jumaji: Welcome To The Jungle won the last battle.

Regardless of box office takings were in for a good holiday season this year with some big hitters getting theatrical releases.

Check out the new Jumanji: The Next Level trailer below.

This week we see the return of the veteran tough men in their 3rd outing together in the collective movie The Expendables 3, also out is The Rover.

Sylvester Stallone heads the cast again with the likes of Jason Statham, Mel Gibson, Arnold Schwartzenegger and Harrison Ford all making appearances in the testosterone filled movie the the 80's heavyweights.

The previous 2 films in the series did well at the box office, with the first doing the best, a number 1 debut and a total UK gross of £10 million.

This film has had a lot of hype but probably wont have the power to topple The Inbetweeners 2 from number 1, a number 2 could be on the cards.

Also out is The Rover starring Guy Pearce and directed by David Michod, this had it's first showing at Cannes, has had little hype but could well see a top 5 entry.

Check back next week to see the final UK Box Office Weekend Report

After a limited early release for 2 weeks in the UK the critically acclaimed movie American Hustle tops the UK box office on its 3rd weekend.

Ending the 3 week run at the top for The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, American Hustle takes over with a weekend box office gross of £3.4 million.

Falling to number 2 in a very close race is The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, which takes £3.2 million on its fourth weekend.

The hit Disney movie Frozen~2013 is still inside the top three for another weekend as the movie takes nearly £3 Million on its 5th weekend of release.

Highest new film of the weekend is the veteran starring movie Last Vegas which boasts a cast including Micheal Douglas, Robert De Niro, Morgan Freeman and Kevin Klein, it takes £1.8 million on its debut.
