Top total grossing: - Batman Forever which had taken £20 Million after 12 weeks of release.
No. 1 movie: Ghost which had been at the top for 2 weeks and with a total gross of £15.6 Million it was also the top total grossing film.
Highest Debut: The Little Mermaid directed by Ron Clements and John Musker and starring Rene Auberjonois and Christopher Daniel Barnes which entered the box office at number 2.
Longest run: - Total Recall which had been on the box office for 12 weeks.
Clint Eastwood is riding high on the wave of critical success and award success, and celebrates his Oscar nominated film by seeing it top the UK box office.
He now manages the double of having the top film in the UK and America at the same time, and if Oscar night is fruitful it could see American Sniper do some really big business.
This week the film, on it's 3rd week of release, takes £2.5 million giving it a UK total gross of £6.6 million, it's world gross is $252 million to date.
Tak3n falls from the top spot after 2 week in the position, a £1.8 million weekend brings it's total gross to £15,1million.
Ex Machina is the highest new film of the week at 5, a £1.1 million weekend is quite weak but the Alex Garland film has had really good reviews which could help it in future weeks.
Also new this week is: Mortdecai disappointingly at 7 and The Gambler at 8.

A year ago - The Wolf of Wall Street was still holding onto the number 1 spot for another week while Jack Ryan Shadow Recruit was the highest new film at 3.
Five years ago - There was still no moving the might of Avatar at the top and with a fairly static chart Brothers was the highest new film at number 9!
Ten years ago - Closer stayed at the top of the box office and again with little movement on the chart Elektra was the highest new film at number 6.
Fifteen years ago - Sleepy Hollow stayed at the top of the box office with the highest new film coming in at number 3 in the shape of Stigmata.

This week makes it 2 in a row for DiCaprio and Scorsese as The Wolf of Wall Street retains it's hold as the top film in the country.
Taking in &pounfd;3.6 million over the weekend nothing gave it a run for it's money, the total for the film is now £10.9 million from 10 days.
Highest new film is Jack Ryan Shadow Recruit, a re-boot of the series and the fifth film to portray the character. Maybe a little disappointing the film only took £1.2 million and lands at 3.
A year ago Les Mis was still riding the wave of popularity at the top of the box office while Spielberg's Lincoln entered at 3 as the highest new film, the top 5 were all Oscar contenders.
Five years ago it was still Oscar winner Slumdog Millionaire at the top with the Tom Cruise vehicle Valkyrie landing in second place.
Ten years ago we had a new number one film, Scary Movie 3 which knocked The Return of the King from the top spot after five weeks at the top.
Fifteen years ago it was all change at the top with girl power reigning in Practical Magic knocking Little Voice from the top.
The top 5 on the UK box office this week was almost static with The Wolf Pack leading the way in their 3rd Hangover outing.
The Hangover Part III stayed at the top for a second weekend in a row this week with no competition from any new releases meaning the only movement in the top 5 was Star Trek into Darkness climbing 1 place and The Great Gatsby dropping a place.
Longest stay in the chart this week is The Croods which is now on an 11 week run and the highest grossing film is Iron Man 3 which has to date grossed £ 36,358,709 A year ago Ridley Scott brought his new Alien film to cinemas in the shape of Prometheus which debut at the top and was hence the highest new film knocking Men in Black 3 from the top.
Five years ago the first Sex and the City movie made it's debut at the top of the UK box office knocking the fourth instalment of the Indiana Jones franchise, The Kingdom of the Chrystal Skull from the top.
Ten years ago The Matrix Reloaded was still riding the wave of expectation at the top keeping Steve Martin at bay in the runner up spot in Bringing Down the House which debuted at 2.
Fifteen year ago meteor disaster movies were all the rage and Deep Impact was still at the top while horror film Wishmaster was the highest new film at 3.
Twenty years ago Indecent Proposal was proving to be the top grossing film of May.
