Deadpool makes it 2 weeks at the top of the UK box office this week with yet another decent weekend gross.

£5.6 million is enough to keep it at the top of the tree which brings its total UK gross to £25 million after 10 days in cinemas.

Repeating last weeks top 2 Alving and the Chipmunks The Road Chip hangs on in the runner up spot for a second week.

Highest new film of the week is the female let comedy How To Be Single staring Dakota Johnson and Rebel Wilson.

The valentines day/date movie has an appeal for men but has a strong female appeal in direct competition to Deadpool, although that film does have a strong female appeal.

How To Be Single makes 3rd place on its debut with a fairly solid £1.8 million, although no-where near either leads last film of Fifty Shades of Grey and Pitch Perfect 2.

The only other new film on the top 10 is Triple 9 at number 6.

Highest total grossing film on the box office is still Star Wars: The Force Awakens which is at number 9 this week and has now taken £122 million.

Historical charts

A Year Ago - Fifty Shades of Grey held onto the top of the box office for a second week and with little strong competition The Wedding Ringer was the highest new film at 5.

Five years ago - Simon Pegg and Nick Frost starred in their self penned Paul which entered at number 1 knocking Gnomeo and Juliet down to 2.

Ten years ago - Chicken Little held on for another week at the top of the chart with Heath Ledger starring in Casanova the highest new film at number 5.

Fifteen years ago - Ridley Scott directed Hannibal which entered the box office at the top knocking Mel Gibson in What Women Want into second place.

Twenty years ago - Smash hot Jumanji entered the box office at the top of the chart knocking Heat down to second place.

Twenty Five Years ago - Dances With Wolves was still riding at the top of the box office after major Oscar success and Men At Work entered the chart at number 5.

For the first time in who knows how many weeks the top film of the week remains the same as last week with The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel holding into the top spot.

With Fifty Shades of Grey also holding on at number 2 the highest new film enters the chart at number 3 in the shape of the Will Smith starring Focus.

Focus was released into UK cinemas on 27th February of this year entering the chart at number 3 that week and making £1.9 million in weekend takings.

The rolling week it went up to number 2 but then slipped down the chart staying on the top 15 for a 6 week stint during which time it grossed £7.3 million.

Also new this week is Still Alice at number 5, Chappie at number 6, The Boy Next Door at number 12 and The Wedding Ringer at number 13, all of which had small chart runs this year.

After such a strong debut from Fifty Shades of Grey last weekend the film was almost certain to retain it's lead at the top for a second weekend, which it does.

A weekend take of £4.6 million now brings the total gross of the film to £25.2 million, meaning it takes over from The Theory of Everything as the top film of 2015 so far.

It is also not the highest grossing 18 rated film in the UK, and the highest grossing R rated movie in America.

Half term week meant that the family and children's films on the chart had strong weeks, Big hero 6 and Shaun the Sheep Movie both had increases in takings from the previous weekend and hold the number 2 and 3 positions.

Highest new film of the week is The Wedding Ringer starring Kevin Hart and Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting, it enters at 4 with a debut gross of £990,000.

One other new film on the top 10 this week in the shape of time travel film Project Almanac.

Historical Charts

Clint Eastwood scores his biggest every weekend gross with American Sniper now on wide release in America, and on the back of major award success.

American Sniper has been on limited release since the end of last year and on it's first weekend in 3,555 screen takes nearly $90 million.
