You may have missed this but yesterday, June 8th, is considered by fans of the series as Ghostbusters day, marked on that day as the original movie was released on this day in North America.

Jason Reitman, director of Ghostbusters: Afterlife and son of the original director Ivan Reitman, during a celebration marking the event, announced officially that a fourth (or fifth depending how you count!) is in the works.

The movie will be code named Firehouse, and who knows this could be the title eventually, after in infamous HQ of the Ghostbusters in the original movie, which can be seen being bought by Ernie Hudsons character Winston Zeddemore in Ghostbusters: Afterlife.

At an event on Wednesday Reitman said he has just started working on a script with Gil Kenan, his co-writer on Afterlife.

Here are the highlights of the announcement

  • The movie will be set on Manhatten Island, New York City
  • It will feature the continued adventures of the Spangler family
  • It will feature Winston Zeddemore (Ernie Hudson) in a bigger role

No word yet on any other returning characters but Dan Aykroyd praised Afterlife a lot so an appearance from him is likely and Bill Murray seems to have buried him Ghostbusters demons so thats also likely.

Sigourney Weaver appeared in a weird cameo in Afterlife so its likely she may return, and Annie Potts could do with wrapping her story up, and even a cameo from Rick Moranis would be a treat.

No word on release or production dates but no doubt were looking at something like June 2024 which would nicely tie in with the 40th anniversary of the original Ghostbusters.

Now where is that sequel to the 2016 Ghostbusters~2016 movie we are all waiting for!

Channing Tatum has confirmed via Twitter that a Magic Mike 3, (called Magic Mike's Last Dance?) is in the works with Steven Soderbergh returning as director.

Steven Soderbergh directed the first movie, Magic Mike in 2012 which starred Tatum and Matthew McConaughey and took just over £8 Million in the UK.

There was a sequel in 2015, Magic Mike XXL, which was directed by Gregory Jacobs and although McConaughey didn't return Tatum did, the movie took £6 Million in the UK.

This means this movie will most like complete a trilogy, and maybe we'll get McConaughey back even if for a cameo.

The movie is being written by Reid Carolin as showing in the script cover in the Tweet.

No more information is given other than by the looks of things it will be released on HBO Max as well as the possibility of a theatrical release.

The first, much anticipated, trailer for the next Spider-Man movie in the MCU sage get released with lots of multiverse madness on show.

Along with Peter Parker and MJ, Doctor Strange features heavily in this trailer, and it seems he gets a little out of his depth trying to re-hide Spider-Mans secret identity.

The Phase 4 movies, and the TV series on Disney+ that are backing up the new MCU movies, have leaned heavily on the multiverse, and it looks like Doctor Strange is abut to throw a good old spanner in the works.

Outside of the main story little is revealed out the story, lots of action is shown alongside the goings on at the Sanctum Sanctorum except for the last few seconds when an old foe pops up, looking exactly as he did in the Sam Raimi directed Spider-Man 2.

The movie stars Tom Holland, Benedict Cumberbatch and Zendaya and is directed once again by Jon Watts, it is set for release globally over the Christmas period.

Announced a few months ago a sequel to the hit movie Sonic The Hedgehog is in the works for release in 2022 and today it has been announced that British superstar Idris Elba will voice the character of Knuckles.

Knuckles then became a good guy joining team Sonic in the fourth Sonic game Sonic & Knuckles which was also released in 1994.

No story has been announced for the new film which will get a release on April 22, 2022, also joining the movie is Sonics friend Two Tails.
