At the UK box office this weekend, Friday, 26th July 2019, there are 4 new releases looking to take your attention at the local multiplex and knock The Lion King from the top of the UK box office chart next week.
First up at cinemas this week is Horrible Histories: The Movie - Rotten Romans, a Family movie from director Dominic Brigstocke who is directing for the first time.
It stars Emilia Jones who last starred in Two For Joy (2018) and Sebastian Croft who last appeared in The Hippopotamus (2017).
Next on the new release schedule is The Current War, this new Dramatic movie stars Benedict Cumberbatch and Michael Shannon.
The film is brought to us by 4 time director Alfonso Gomez-Rejon who's last film was Me And Earl And The Dying Girl.
Next up this week is The Intruder which is directed by Deon Taylor and is a directorial debut.
It stars Michael Ealy and Meagan Good who were last seen together in Think Like A Man Too which grossed £131,138.
Also this week there is André Rieu 2019 Maastricht Concert: Shall We Dance? from director Michael Wiseman marking a directorial debut,
The film features André Rieu and Charlotte Hawkins in starring roles.

As is traditional for Hollywood in the modern era, the night before the film industry celebrates the 'best' of the year, The Razzies 'celebrates' the worst of the year.
This year a new award has been given out, to the individual who usually does really bad in movies but is now making great movies, The Redeemer Award.

This weekend in the US it was a simple case of The Transformers conquers all as it takes the highest Friday to Sunday gross of the year so far.
The fourth in the Michael Bay directed Transformers films, Transformers: Age of Extinction, hot US cinemas this weekend and took an incredible $100 million, the highest of the year to date.
The Transformers massive gross was as much as the rest of the box office combined, last weeks top film Think Like a Man Too takes a big tumble to number 4 this week.
Next week comedy Tammy and horror Deliver Us From Evil make their debut's, Transformers will get some competition but should stay at the top.
At the US box office this week is the Tim story directed Think Like A Man Too, starring Kevin Heart it takes over at the top on it's debut weekend.
A sequel to 2012's Think Like A Man, Think Too grosses $30 million on it's debut, a similar ball park as the original which took $33 million two years ago, although that was an April time frame.
Falling into second place this week, and after just one week at the top, is 22 Jump Street, it's total gross after 10 days is $111.5 million.
Other new films on the US chart this week - Jersey Boys at 4 -
