On video this week in the UK The Hobbit: The Battle of The Five Armies makes it debut on the chart at the top.

The Hobbit: The Battle of The Five Armies hit the UK box office on 12th December 2015 with a £9.7 million debut weekend.

Being hailed as the last chance to see a Middle Earth move at the cinema the film had a 7 week stay on the box office taking £40.9 million during that time.

The film did well across the globe, it took over $255 million in the US and across the globe it grossed $941.5 million.

In the UK it is the 37th highest grossing film ever while across the world it is the 27th highest grossing film ever.

Last weeks top film, Night At The Museum Secret of The Tomb, falls to number 4 this week.

Also new on the UK video chart is: Dumb and Dumber To at 2, Tinker Bell and The Legend of The Neverbeast at 3 and direct to video film Mankinds Last Stand at 9.

The Hobbit series of movies has never quite been the box office kings that The Lord of the Rings Series was, but The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies this week flies in as the top film of the weekend.

Taking a very respectable £9.8 million the third and last film in The Hobbit series, and most likely The Middle Earth saga, manages to beat everything else with little trouble, and it also beats the second of The Hobbit films debut gross, but not the firsts.

The new number one film takes over from last weeks top film Paddington which falls a single place after two weeks at the top, it's total gross to date is £14.3 million.

Also new this week is Tinker Bell and The Legend of The Neverbeast which lands at number 7.

With such a big new release there were no other new films on the box office this week, and the Peter Jackson directed movie will most likely suck up most of the cast over the next couple of weeks.

This week Liam Neeson proves he's still a massive home cinema hit with his starring vehicle Non-Stop hitting the top.

Non-Stop was released at UK cinemas on 1st March this year where it debuted at number 2, being kept off the top spot by the years biggest film so far The Lego Movie.

On it's debut weekend it grossed £2.6 million, it was at the box office for 7 weeks and grossed a total of £9.3 million pounds during that time.

Last weeks top film, Tinker Bell and the Pirate Fairy takes a big fall down the chart this week to number 5.

Worth mentioning this week, yet again, is Disney's Frozen which spends yet another week at number 2, thats 14 weeks in the top 3 most of which have been at the top or in second place.

Other new video to chart this week - Ride Along at 3 -

This week Disney prove their sales force by taking the top two slots on the video charts with Tinker Bell and the Pirate Fairy debuting at the top and Frozen hiding still at 2 for another week inside the top 3.

Disney released the 5th Tinker Bell feature film at UK cinemas on February 14th this year, over a 6 week period if debuted at 6 with £966,920 but then flew up to number 6 the following week taking £1,207,245.

It took a total gross of £5,459,408 which is by far the highest of the Tinker Bell films, the previous high being £3,798,612 from Tinker Bell and the Secret of the Wings in 2012.

Frozen continues it run on the video chart with a 13th week none of them being lower than 3.

Last weeks top film, Robocop falls to 3 this week.
