Based loosely on a concept known as creepypasta which refers to horror-related legends, stories, or images shared across the internet, Backrooms has been given a 15 age rating in the UK for strong language, violence, injury detail, horror.

The movie stars Chiwetel Ejiofor who has starred in Triple 9 and The First Monday In May, the movie also features Renate Reinsve who has been seen in Villmark 2 and Phoenix~2018.

The movie is directed by Kane Parsons who is making a feature film debut with Backrooms but is the person responsible for creating the concept under the guise of Kane Pixels.
