This week we have a couple of new entries at the top two positions on the home entertainment chart in the shape of 1917 and Onward which pushes Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker down to number 3.

1917

Top new film of the week is Sam Mendes World War 2 drama which also takes over at number 1 from the last Star Wars Movie.

The film was a smash hit at the UK box office at the beginning of the year where it entered the chart at number 1 and stayed for 4 weeks.

the film has currently taken £43.7 Million in the UK and is the top grossing movie so far in 2020, it also took $159.2 Million in the US and $368.2 Million globally.

Onward

Pixars last movie had a tough time at the box office, it was a new franchise for the animation studio so had to prove itself then 2 weeks after release all cinemas closed due to the COVID-19 global pandemic.

Pixar tried to make the best of things by offering the movie for rent for £20, we dont know how successful this was but the movie is not available to buy and with schools closed the movie makes a number 2 debut.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker

After 3 weeks at the top that last of the Star Wars sage movies falls to number 3 this week.

Jojo Rabbit

Second week on the chart for Taika Waititi's satirical World War 2 movie as it falls to number 4.

Birds of Prey (And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn)

It may not have been the bog hit at the cinemas Warner Bros. was hoping for but the Margot Robbie movie spends its 3rd week on the home entertainment chart and is at number 5 this week.

Here is the full home entertainment chart for week 13th May 2020.

In what is a quiet week compared to recent weeks Jack Black takes his latest film Goosebumps to the top of the UK box office beating Dads Army in the process.

The children's fantasy film enters at the top of the box office on its debut with £2.7 million pound which is low for both star Jack Black and director Rob Letterman.

Black has his next film Kung Fu Panda 3 about to be released in the UK which will most likely debut much higher and be a bigger hit.

British favourite Dads Army gets a big screen remake this week and enters the box office at number 2 with just over £2 million.

The World War 2 film starring Toby Jones and Catherine Zeta Jones, as well as a whole host of British talent, has maybe performed below expectations but will most likely hang around for a fair few weeks.

Last week top film, The Revenant, fall to number 3 this week after 3 weeks at the top, but with Oscar just round the corner there could be a resurgent later in February.

Highest total grossing film on the box office is Star Wars: The Force Awakens which has now taken an incredible $120 million in the UK and is at number 6 this week.
