$0 Sequel movie Black Phone 2 starring Ethan Hawke makes its debut a top of the North American box office with a gross of over $27 Million.
The original movie took $23 Million in 2022 so this is in the same ballpark but it has improved as the original movie has gained popularity.
Last weeks top movie, TRON Ares drop to number 2 this weekend after a single week at the top and has taken $54.5 Million so far, lower than the previous movie.

Released globaly this week there are 23 new releases looking to take your attention and where available could hit your local cinema and try and replace Demon Slayer - Kimetsu No Yaiba - : The Movie Infinity Castle from the top of the global box office.

It has been over 12 years since the Synderverse Man of Steel it cinemas with Henry Cavill as Superman and a lot has changed in the DC Cinematic Universe since then.
Superman~2025 from director and current DCEU boss James Gunn hits the top of the UK box office on its debut weekend with a solid nearly £7 Million weekend gross.
Compared to Man of Steel from 2013 this is lower with that movie taking £11 Million on its debut.
Comparing it to other Superman movies, its higher that the 2006 Bryan Singer movie Superman Returns which scraped in just over £4 Million and the classic 1978 Superman starring Christopher Reeves took just over a million on its debut which would be just over £4 Million adjusted for inflation - but cinema was very different back then.
Falling to number 2 this weekend after a single weekend at the top is Jurassic World: Rebirth which has taken over £19 Million after just 2 weekends in cinemas.

It would seem there is no escaping live action remakes at the box office at the moment as Dreamworks How to Train Your Dragon~2025 remakes makes its debut at number 1
The movie takes an am amazing £8.1 Million on its debut which although lower that Disney's Lilo and Stitch~2025 on its debut is not far off.
The original animation took £4.8 Million on its debut in April of 2010.
Lilo & Stitch~2025 spent 3 weeks at the top of the UK box office and this week falls to number 2, the movie has made over £33 Million.
