We are all taking a deep breath as this weekend approaches but until then Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them makes its fourth weekend at the top while top new film is Office Christmas Part which debuts at number 4.

Warner Bros. clearly released this new entry into the Wizarding World at the right time as the film adds another £2.7 million (£4.4 million across the week) to its total which now sits at £42.3 million.

Highest new film of the week if bromance comedy Office Christmas Party, it enters at number 4 with a debut gross of £1.2 million.

The film is a Christmas based movie and as such I suspect it will make a swift exit from the box office one the festive season is over.

Highest total grossing film on the chart this week is Fantastic beasts and the longest running film is Trolls which has now been around for 8 weeks.

It will be interesting to watch what happens over next week with the new entry in Star Wars, last years Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens had a £34 million debut weekend, with the reviews so far for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story are we looking at even better? Historical box office

A year ago - The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 had its 4th weekend at the top and with the world waiting or the first Star Wars film in over a decade there were no new film inside the top 15, Peggy Guggenheim Art Addict was the top new film at number 25!

Five years ago - Puss in Boots starring Antonio Banderas was the top new film at number one, it knocked Arthur Christmas to number 2 after 4 weeks at the top.

Ten years ago - George Miller directed Happy Feet which was the top new film at number 1, it knocked off Casino Royale which fell to number 3 after 3 weeks at the top.

Fifteen years ago - Harry Potter and The Philosophers Stone remained at the top for a fourth weekend while the top new film was The 51st State starring Samuel L. Jackson at number 2.

Twenty years ago - Arnold Schwarzenegger was all festive in Jingle All The Way which made its debut at the top of the UK box office, its knocked The Long Kiss Goodnight down to number 2 after a single week at the top.

Twenty five years ago - Point Break made it 3 weeks at the top and with a quiet week for new releases there was nothing new on the top 10.

It's proving to be the runaway hit of moment as Fast and Furious 7 speeds ahead of the rest of the field as it produces another £5.4 million over the weekend.

This gives Furious 7 a total UK gross after 2 weekends of £26.2 million, the film is fast catching the years highest grossing movie, Fifty Shades of Grey, which has taken £34.6 million.

With little in the way of new releases next week Furious 7 could well stay at the top until the release of Avengers Age Of Ultron at the end of April.

Highest new film of the week is American teen comedy/drama The DUFF, new at 4 with £891,691, not a great start!

The other new films this week maybe underperformed and all entered at the lower end of the chart, John Wick at 6, Woman In Gold at 7 and Paul Blart Mall Cop 2 at 8.

A year ago - Captain America: The Winter Soldier was holding still at the top of the box office with The Quiet Ones the highest new film down at 5.

Five years ago - Clash of The Titans was still the top film in the UK while the highest new film was all the way down at 8 in the shape of Whip It.

Ten years ago - The Matthew McConaughey film Sahara was the highest new film and entered at the top of the box office knocking The Ring Two down to number 2 after a week on top.

Fifteen years ago - Julia Roberts starred in the Oscar winning Erin Brockovich which entered at the top of the box office knocking Lake Placid down to number 2.

Neill Blomkamp this week scores his second number 1 film with his second film, Elysium, which smashes last weeks top film from the top spot, We're the Millers and The Mortal Instruments also debut in the top 5.

With a weekend gross of £3.1 million Elysium easily takes over at the top of the UK box office making it the 21st number 1 film this year.

Following behind in the runner up spot is We're the Millers.

Last weeks top film, Kick-Ass 2, falls all the way to number 7 this week with a weekend take of just over £600,000.

Compared to my predictions Elysium did open in the top spot and was just shy of my £4 million suggestion. We're the Millers opened where I suggested at 2 and was just a little shy of the £2 million I predicted. The Mortal Instruments performed as I expected opening in the top 5 and with around £1 million. Lovelace opened well outside the top 15 (20) and only took £86,000, it was only in 80 cinemas though.

Last year Brave contunued to perform well in the top spot with the highest new film right down at 5 being Keith Lemon: The Movie.

5 years ago Hellboy II debuted at number 1 knocking The Dark Knight down to number 4.

10 years ago American Pie: The Wedding remained at the top with Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life debuting at 3 as the highest new film.

15 years ago The X-Files movie took over at the top on it's debut weekend taking over from Armageddon which fell to number 2.

Johnny Depp voices the character of Rango this week which makes its debut at the top of the UK box office.

Rango is the story of a lizard who winds up in the Wild West of America. The film had a mediocre opening weekend in what has been a quiet weekend compared to recent weeks with a £1,638,613 weekend gross on its debut.

The runner up this week is another new entry in the shape of Matt Damon who stars in The Adjustment Bureau, the George Nolfi directed film took £1,395,715 over the weekend.

To Finish off a trio of new released at the top of the box office is the Liam Neeson starring Unknown. The crime thriller, for which Neeson is starting to pigeon hole himself, is directed by Jaume Collet-Serra and took £1,356,345 this weekend.

Nick Frost and Simon Pegg are at number 4 with their Alien film Paul which has a weekend take of £1,109,766 with a total gross of £12,207,049, and getting over the hangover of the award season is The Kings Speech which is now at 3 with a weekend of £1,076,381 which brings its total now to £41,930,117.

Last weeks top film, Gnomeo and Juliet, falls all the way to 6 this week, quite a drop post school holiday, but Rango is direct competition and took much of its potential audience this weekend.
