At the UK box office this weekend, Friday, 8th November 2019, there are 8 new releases looking to take your attention at the local multiplex and knock Joker from the top of the UK box office chart next week.
First up at cinemas this week is Midway, an Action movie directed by Roland Emmerich who also directed White House Down in 2013 which grossed £4.2 Million.
It stars Ed Skrein who last starred in Maleficent: Mistress Of Evil (2019).
The film also stars Patrick Wilson who last appeared in Annabelle Comes Home (2019).
Next on this weeks new release schedule is The Irishman.
This new movie stars Robert De Niro who's last film was Joker (2019)
It also stars Al Pacino who appeared in Once Upon A Time ... In Hollywood (2019).
Robert De Niro and Al Pacino starred in Righteous Kill (2008) together.
The film is brought to us by veteran director Martin Scorsese.
Next up this week is Better Days which is directed by Derek Tsang who directed Soulmate in 2016.
It stars Dongyu Zhou and Jackson Yee.
Also this week there is The Good Liar from director Bill Condon who also directed The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 in 2011.
The film features Helen Mirren and Ian McKellen in starring roles.
The long list of new releases continues with Luce which is directed by Julius Onah who directed The Cloverfield Paradox in 2018.
It stars Naomi Watts and Octavia Spencer.
Finally there is Arctic Dogs from director Aaron Woodley who also directed The Entitled in 2011, the film stars Jeremy Renner and Heidi Klum.

At the UK box office this weekend, Friday, 1st November 2019, there are 4 new releases looking to take your attention at the local multiplex and knock Joker from the top of the UK box office chart next week.
First up at cinemas this week is Doctor Sleep, a movie directed by Mike Flanagan who also directed Ouija: Origin Of Evil in 2016 which grossed £2.5 Million.
This is an adaptation to Stephen Kings novel and is the long awaited sequel to Stanley Kubrick's classic 1980 movie The Shining.
It stars Ewan McGregor who last starred in Christopher Robin (2018).
The film also stars Rebecca Ferguson who last appeared in Men In Black: International (2019).
Next on this weeks new release schedule is Brittany Runs A Marathon.
This new movie stars Jillian Bell who's last film was Rough Night (2017)
It also stars Jennifer Dundas who appeared in The Post (2018).
The film is brought to us by new director Paul Downs Colaizzo.
Next up this week is Western Stars which is directed by Bruce Springsteen and Thom Zimny directing together.
It stars Bruce Springsteen who was last seen in Asbury Park: Riots, Redemption, Rock 'n' Roll which grossed £43,489.
Also this week there is Sorry We Missed You from director Ken Loach who also directed Riff Raff in 1991.
The film features Kris Hitchen and Debbie Honeywood in starring roles.

Master of cinema Martin Scorsese has made his new film under the Netflix streaming service but it gets a small cinema release window and the BBFC have given it a 15 age rating in the UK.
The film has Scorsese going back to his gangster crime roots and also has his first team up with Robert De Niro in many years.
Another couple of big events for the film, it is the first time Joe Pesci has appeared in a starring role since his retirement in the early 00's and it teams Robert De Niro with Al Pacino for only the 3rd time.
The BBFC have given the film a 15 rating for strong violence, language and the film has a runtime of 208 Minutes (3 hours and 28 minutes), the movie was passed uncut.
You can see The Irishman in cinemas on November 1st and on Netflix streaming from November 27th.
