
US release: 9th January 2026Sequel movie Minions: The Rise of Gru has been given a U age rating in the UK for mild comic violence, very mild scary scenes, rude humour, language.
The movie stars the voice talents of Steve Carell as the evil henchman Gru as he has done in the Despicable Me movies, it also stars the voice talent of Pierre Coffin as the Minions.
The movie is directed by Kyle Balda, Brad Ableson, Jonathan del Val who have all worked on Despicable Me and Minions movies in the past.
Movie Synopsis
In the 1970s, young Gru tries to join a group of supervillains called the Vicious 6 after they oust their leader -- the legendary fighter Wild Knuckles. When the interview turns disastrous, Gru and his Minions go on the run with the Vicious 6 hot on their tails. Luckily, he finds an unlikely source for guidance -- Wild Knuckles himself -- and soon discovers that even bad guys need a little help from their friends.

At the UK box office this week, Friday, 24th May 2019, there is 3 new releases looking to take your attention at the local multiplex and break into the box office chart next week.
First up at cinemas this week is Musical movie Aladdin directed by Guy Ritchie who also directed King Arthur: Legend Of The Sword in 2017 which grossed £4,887,487.
It stars Will Smith who last starred in Bright for Netflix and Mena Massoud who last appeared in Run This Town.
Next on the new release schedule is Rocketman, this new biographical movie stars Taron Egerton and Jamie Bell.
The film is brought to us by 4 time director Dexter Fletcher who's last film was Eddie The Eagle.
Also out this week is The Secret Life Of Pets 2 which is directed by Chris Renaud and Jonathan del Val directing together.
It stars Patton Oswalt and Kevin Hart.
